Youth Ministry for Operation Christmas Child

Youth in our Parish (and their friends) are gathering Saturday (Nov. 22) 6 p.m. at St. Timothy’s Church, to go shopping for items for the Operation Christmas Child shoebox program. On Friday the youth (Grade 6 +) held their 1st Annual "Mission: Christmas Coffeehouse" - offering talent and raising money for this important outreach ministry to children in developing countries. A total of $580 was raised!  BRAVO! A special thanks to youth organizers Mark McMullin and Jessie Bower for a successful initiative.

SUNDAY DEADLINE - Operation Christmas Child

Hurry! The return deadline for Operation Christmas Child program boxes is Nov. 23rd. This outreach project through Samaritan’s Purse sees children in developing countries get Christmas Shoebox packages filled with toys and school supplies. Take a box or fill a wrapped shoe box (make sure to wrap the lid separately). Follow the instructions on the brochure and be sure to fill it first with prayer. When choosing an age group, please note that the oldest, ages 10 to 14 are very underrepresented. The Sunday School will also be filling boxes. Donated items or money towards this project are welcome. Donation drop-off box is in the Hall. See Dawn Purcell for details (852-3046).

Amazing Grace Sunday

music scoreYou know the song, now get involved!

All Canadian Anglican congregations are invited to sing the hymn “Amazing Grace” on Nov. 23. We’ll participate at all our Sunday worship-times. The Amazing Grace Project is about lifting our voices together in song, expressing our faith in Christ, and celebrating a common life and witness. It’s simple, but it’s powerful and will be a reminder of the amazing power of God’s love and grace in our lives.

As a way of spreading grace, we will be passing the hat, asking parishioners to donate a Toonie to the Council of the North, a group of financially-struggling dioceses in Canada’s north. A special display of native artifacts from the North will be set up at St. Timothy’s.
