Do you enjoy knitting and have some bits of yarn handy? Why not pick up a knitting pattern for ICROSS Comfort Dolls? People around the world are knitting Comfort Dolls for the HIV/AIDS work in East Africa. Dolls are used as packing material to cushion the medical supplies, and when the meds are unloaded the dolls are given to orphans and the children of the poorest of the poor. Often the doll that is sent as packing material is the only toy these children will ever own and many HIV/AIDS orphans are buried with their dolls. ICROSS is a small humanitarian, non-profit group, which stands for International Community for the Relief of Starvation and Suffering. For more information, Contact ACW President, Dawn Purcell (852-3046). Return finished dolls to ACW members at both churches. (Remember to not make all the dolls with white faces.) |
