Son Rock Camp VBS 20091We give thanks & praise to the Lord for the rich blessings received through the VBS! Thirty-seven children registered, 35 were able to attend.  Rhonda Scott was Camp Director and Helen Murphy was her invaluable 'right hand'.

Alyssa Hurd and Helen Murphy along with their helpers handled the welcoming sign-ins and sign-outs each day.  Dorcas Shaw with helpers Ashley Slaunwhite and Alyssa Hurd kept the young campers well fed and happy through her theme-based creative snacks. Angela Rae kept them on the move in dancing for Jesus.

The children performed their dance and sang their songs at the closing ceremony on Friday which was very well attended.  The parents, grandparents and care-givers were wowed at how much the kids had learned.

Kendra Mahar hosted the children in the large tent every morning for bible story time which was followed up with a discussion and individual journaling.  Bertha Slaunwhite, Tiffany Cruickshanks and Helen Murphy along with their helpers worked with the kids at the daily craft station.  Every day the children had a completed craft to bring home and proudly show off to their families.  A games station was available also; Allison Jollimore and Kyle Cruickshanks along with their helpers kept the games organized and fun. Birthdays were celebrated as well.  Jorja Gallivan celebrated her 8th birthday at the camp.  Jorja's mom Sheri Gallivan brought in a surprise for the kids which was decorated cupcakes made into the shape of a guitar.  Rhonda, Tiffany & Kyle's birthdays were celebrated on Friday at the leaders' closing party.  We were excited to have pizza at our closing party.  Many thanks to Bob Moulton and the Men's breakfast group for their support & generosity. Clean-up after a week long event takes many hands and much time & energy so the gift of lunch was welcomed indeed!  Thank you to Byron Berringer for the delivery

A great big thank you is given lovingly to everyone who works to make the VBS happen for the children.  All the workers are to be commended for their goodness in serving Christ through His little children and we give them our love and appreciation:  Rhonda Scott, Helen Murphy, Dorcas Shaw, Angela Rae, Tiffany Cruickshanks, Kendra Mahar, Bertha Slaunwhite, Ashley Slaunwhite, & Alyssa Hurd. Youth leaders and helpers were Alanna Hurd, Allison & Rob Jollimore, Kyle Cruickshanks, Harriet & Ruby Carlton-Neal, & Katie Billard. Thank you to Jaimie Cruickshanks who filled in for Tiffany one morning.  Also many thanks to Dave Waterfall for his creative works, Tanya Wadden for hers, Matthew Scott and Byron Berringer for helping us out and to Sheri Gallivan for the yummy cupcakes.  We are very grateful for the financial donations received during the week from Sandi & Neal Henderson, Sheri Gallivan, Rusty Neal & Melanie Carlton, Laura Shaw and to those who donated anonymously.

A venture as large as a Vacation Bible School requires much work and this work is done for close to a year prior.  This work is so vital and greatly appreciated.  Without it we would not be able to offer a VBS.  We give thanks to God for Janet Holland & Joyce Lewis who have donated their time, talents and treasures consistently through the years to St. Timothy's Vacation Bible School. This year they donated all materials and hand-made backpacks for each child.  The coffee cozies that they made last year which financed VBS 2008 are still a source of income.  Thank you to Elaine Moulton who continually comes up with fund raiser ideas for us and back them up with her sales skills.

A great big thank to Helen Murphy, Dave Waterfall and Brenda Cowie for their dedication and hard work in making and selling the Christmas cards which was the main fundraiser for this year's VBS 2009.  The income generated from the cards financed VBS 2009.  On behalf of the children and all involved, we give great thanks to everyone who supports us!  Thank you for serving Jesus through His precious little ones. Blessings and thanks!

Rev. Cheryl.

St Timothy's Unveils New Advent Banner - November 29th

St. Timothy's dedicated a new bright blue banner complete with four-candled Advent wreath on November 29th. It’s dedicated to the glory of God and in loving memory of long-time ACW member Sylvia Berringer, and crafted by members of the ACW . Parts of the quilting came from some of Sylvia's favourite clothing. We remember, give thanks and celebrate!
